In order to carry out the installation you will need:
WELLUX 3mm-thick ground cushion, WELLXU Glue, spacer (8mm-10mm), tapping block, percussion drill, pull bar, saw, hammer, pencil, and square. Specific supplementary materials and fittings for WELLUX floor board are strongly recommended for good quality. Once a package has been opened its contents should be used without delay.
WELLUX should always be installed by a floating floor system, with the groove and tongue jointed by glue on the pre-set 3mm-thick ground cushion.
Under no circumstances may planks be glued, nailed, or by other methods attached to the sub floor.
Wood floor will expand with humidification and contract with desiccation. Therefore, an 8-12 mm expansion spacing is required around the perimeter of the room and as well as against any fixed objects (such as heating lines or doorframes).
The sub floor must be flat, dry, clean, and firm (old fixed carpet must be removed). Smoothing: Irregularities of larger than 3 mm on the surface along arbitrary 1m plank length must be either polished or grouted.
Drying:1.Testing the moisture by induction type meter to ensure the value less than 20;2.Lay a 50cmX50cm sheet film on the ground with perimeter sealed, to ensure no water globule inside after 12 hours;
Cleanness: e.g. no floating dusts, no obvious construction castoff;
Firm: A solid foundation without looseness.
WELLUX FLOORING planks should preferably be installed in the direction of the main light source.
For installation in floor heating system, please follow special instructions. You can consult your dealer for details.
Expansion joints (at least 2 cm width) must be fitted between adjacent rooms, and where the room is larger than 8 meters in plank length, transition pulling bar must be used.
The seams of underlay should be overlapped and glued.
When the outdoor temperature drops below 0 c,the sealed packs must be stored for 24 hours in the room where they are to be installed.
After installation completion, please keep air ventilation.
Installation:
Beginning on the left side of the starting wall in the room, lay out the first row of boards with groove facing the wall. Before gluing, put the boards together and use spacers along all sides that butt up against walls to maintain 8-12mm expansion zone.
Measure the distance between wall and the face surface of the last board. Considering the expansion zone, mark and cut the board. The piece (at least 300mm in length) cut from the last plank from the first row can be used for the second row.
The floor can now be laid panel after panel, row after row. Firstly, lay first three rows without gluing and cutting, and if everything goes right, proceed the installation. Begin the next row of planks with the piece cut from the last row. Each joints of all boards should be staggered 300mm or more. Apply the proper amount of the special WELLUX glue to the tongue as well as the groove uniformly to ensure a water-resistant joint. As the glue starts to dry, remove excess glue with scraper card and clean the joint thoroughly with a damp cotton cloth.
Check the tongue and the groove regularly and ensure the floor is flat after each board installed. Tap gently to close the joints. Excessive or forceful tapping may damage the tongues.
During installation, leave a space of 1mm in the transverse joints. After completion of the longitudinal joints, tap gently to close the transverse ones.
Always cut with the decorative side of the board facing up to minimize chipping. Only when using power saw or a hand-held circular saw should the decorative side face downwards.
